Wearable gastric
monitoring.
Developing a wearable, flexible electrode patch to continuously monitor
gastric myoelectric activity (EGG) in real-world settings.
ROLE
Undergraduate Research Assistant
TIMELINE
January 2025 - Present
AREAS
Bioelectronics, continuous monitoring, GI health

Overview
Gastric myoelectric activity provides a non-invasive window into stomach function, but it is difficult to measure continuously outside of clinical settings. My lab is developing a flexible, wearable electrogastrogram (EGG) patch that captures high-quality signals pre- and post-prandially.
My Work
-
Fabricate and iterate on flexible, skin-conformable EGG patches
-
Optimize materials and substrate design to reduce impedance and noise
-
Develop protocols for device usage and data collection
-
Conduct literature reviews on associations between chronic stress and gastric motility
-
Set up and organize study operations (REDCAP)
-
Assist with and lead in-lab sensor swap sessions with participants
